Reeve for the Municipal District of Bonnyville is Urging Citizens to Vote

Ed Rondeau, Reeve for the MD, says it’s important for people to be aware of the issues at stake in the upcoming election and to vote, “people need to go out and vote, it’s important that everybody votes and helps determine who governs their area.”

Reeve Rondeau believes the upcoming provincial election will have a lot of impact on The Lakeland. One issue in particular that Reeve Rondeau has been particularly vocal about is Regional Government. Reeve Rondeau has made no efforts hiding the fact that he is against Regional Government, but at the same time urges residents of the MD to educate themselves with the issue and decide for themselves what they believe is right for the area.

Reeve Rondeau says the trouble with Regional Government is, “if it’s not wanted by the residents then the effect that it will have is that it’s going to take some money away from the current rate payers or taxes will go up.”

Reeve Rondeau says the best thing people can do is educate themselves and research issues such as Regional Government.  Rondeau also urges residents to attend the All Candidate Forums in Cold Lake on April 22nd and in Bonnyville on April 30th.
