Cold Lake RCMP say stolen vehicle leads to chase, arrest

RCMP in Cold Lake are saying a short chase and foot pursuit ended their efforts to catch a few suspects in a stolen vehicle. Police are saying on May 17th at around 3 pm Mounties were patrolling in the Cold Lake First Nation when they found a vehicle reported stolen earlier. Cold Lake RCMP Staff Sergeant Jeremie Landry says police tried to pull the vehicle over.

“The vehicle fled the scene. Three suspects ran from the vehicle on foot. One of the suspects was arrested.”

A 23 year old woman from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement was arrested by police while two other suspects were able to flee. Mounties used a police dog to try to find the suspects. Police are saying they were able to identify the other two.

“Warrants for arrest have been applied for, for the two other occupants in the vehicle. We have warrants pending for a 28 year old female from Cold Lake and a 47 year old male from the Cold Lake First Nation.”

The 23 year old meanwhile is facing charges including possession of property obtained in a crime. She’ll be in court on June 13th.
