Information on Northern Lights School Division Pre-School & Kindergarten Programming

It’s the time of year that parents begin researching information for their child’s early childhood education. Northern Lights School Division (NLSD) has opened registration for their preschool programming.

Nicole Garner, Communications Officer with NLSD, says the division offers a variety of programming to fit each family’s lifestyle. “Northern Lights is proud to offer two and three day pre-school programming at all of our schools”, Garner explains, “there are also full-day options at our larger schools”. Those larger schools include, Duclos Elementary in Bonnyville, North Star Elementary in Cold Lake, and Cold Lake Elementary.

Registration forms are available online or by stopping in at your chosen school. Garner suggests that parents register early as space fills up quickly.

For children entering Kindergarten, NLSD is please to announce a special Open House to introduce parents and kids to Kindergarten. Garner says, “all of our division schools will be hosting an information day on May 1st.” The day is intended to give kids an idea of what to expect, as well as, allow them to meet the teacher, see what the classroom is like, and really get to know the school.

Garner notes that  Duclos Elementary in Bonnyville, North Star Elementary in Cold Lake, and Cold Lake Elementary will be hosting a Parents’ Information Night April 30th for parents to meet the teacher prior to the Open House the following day. Parents may register their children online or my stopping in at the chosen school.
