Cold Lake mounties say false call about bodies has real consequences

The Cold Lake RCMP are shaking their heads after a false call about found bodies on the Cold Lake First Nation. Police say at around 9:10 pm on April 28th a 911 call was placed claiming to have found two bodies on the Nation. Cold Lake RCMP Staff Sergeant Jeremie Landry says mounties were on the scene quickly.

“RCMP attended and investigated and determined the call to be false in nature as well as the identity of the caller.”

Staff Sergeant Landry says the amount of police force the call tied up was no joking manner.

“In this case, it tied up a significant amount of resources. It tied up RCMP resources as well as EMS who was called and were staging, waiting for us to attend and determine what was taking place.”
