MLA Dave Hanson says carbon tax no good for school bus drivers

Two Hills – St. Paul – Lac La Biche MLA David Hanson says he’s heard enough concerns from local school bus drivers when it comes to the carbon tax. Hanson says the idea of an increasing carbon tax on fuel scares the drivers enough to make them question the future viability of the program.

Hanson took the concerns to the legislature, recently asking Alberta Education Minister David Eggen during Assembly on if any relief from the tax is in sight. Eggen responded that the government has put more than $970 million into the education system.

Hanson’s United Conservative Party has been on record as anti-carbon tax, with UCP leader Jason Kenney calling for referendums before taxes are raised any more.
