Elk Point hears good news about money at town council

The town of Elk Point is feeling good about money after hearing its financial report at town council. Metrix Group LLP was on hand to show council the town’s financial position on April 9th, and town debt has shrunk. A variety of factors were shown to have shrunk the debt from around $1.3 million to a modest $305,000; Sales of assets and collection of unpaid taxes among them.

The report also helped council see that Elk Point isn’t immune to the boom and bust economy, with tax assessments down $1.5 million and mill rates decreasing. more information on the report can be found at the towns website.
