Elk Point man arrested after chase, shooting in Saskatchewan

An Elk Point man is among those facings charges after a police chase and shooting on Highway 16 in Saskatchewan. On Saturday April 14th, Maidstone RCMP got a call about theft at a gas station in Lashburn. Upon investigation they found that the same van the suspects were driving matched a description from an armed robbery in Regina a day before. Police spotted the van on Highway 16 and chased it until it was stopped near Delmas.

A shot was then fired from the van causing an RCMP officer to return fire. Two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested. The woman was treated for minor injuries she received from the dog unit on scene. No one else was hurt.

A 19 year old Elk Point man and a 30 year old Melville, Saskatchewan woman are both facing a few charges including flight from police and discharge of a firearm. They are both in a North Battleford court room today.
