Skating with the law and helping out the community

The Cold Lake Peace Officers are inviting the public out to their CPO Skate Fundraiser. The event sees the public invited to take some laps around the ice with local law enforcement in support of getting ice skating and hockey equipment to a few local schools.

The first skate in 2014 was organized by CPO Robert Mercer and originally saw about 30 people. Last year over 100 skaters came out and donations have grown as well. Previous recipients of donated money and equipment include St. Dominic Elementary School and Cold Lake Elementary School.

The fun all begins at the Cold Lake Energy Centre at 2:45 pm Friday afternoon. Encouraged donations include ice skates for children and adults, ice skating helmets, cash, and Canadian Tire Money. All donations are gratefully accepted.
