Elk Point Councilor resigns

An Elk Point town councilor has resigned and a by-election will be held to fill the seat. Sherry Bower Gagne handed in her resignation on Monday as she plans to move to a different community. Bower Gagne was elected five months ago in the general election, her first run in politics. She also served on a few boards around the community, including the County of St. Paul & Town of Elk Point FCSS.

The town confirmed that a by-election will be held, with May 19th a tentative nomination day. Elk Point is expecting the by-election to cost the community around $2000.
