Proposed seniors housing in Elk Point reaches council

The CEO of Country Gardens Villas was on hand at Elk Point Council last week to present a plan for townhouses built with the 55+ community in mind. Dixie Dahlstedt made her pitch to the mayor and council of the little over seven acre project that would be placed at the north end of 51st street in Elk Point.

The plans have been drawn up specifically for Elk Point. The ground level complex features an x-type pattern of 24 two-bedroom/two-bathroom units at about 1250 square feet each. at the intersection of the x is a planned common social area.

The Town has put forth a Memorandum of Understanding to negotiate more details, Dahlstedt is hoping to see phase one off the ground this spring.
