St. Paul gets details on Wastewater Upgrade

St. Paul Council got a look at what will be happening to the upgrade on their wastewater facility at last weeks council. Members from MPE Engineering were on hand to provide a scoop on the work to be done.

The current wastewater treatment plant suffers from a few deficiencies, including it’s ability to treat water soon being too small for future needs. The upgrades on the plant will include upgrades to the screening process and increasing lift station capacity, allowing more wastewater to be pumped and treated.

The estimated cost of the project is around $11 million with half of that to be covered by a federal grant. Construction is scheduled for January 2019. It is expected that the work will bring about a 95% increase in water treatment quality
