If you don’t succeed, try again. That’s what Cold Lake council thought when they saw the first design of a planned expansion on the water treatment plant on the shores of Kinosoo Beach. They’ve worked with developers, and a new design has the praises of Mayor Craig Copeland.
“It was looking like a big tin building. It was unacceptable. With the money we’ve put in to try to get Kinosoo Beach up to a high standard, we weren’t happy.”
After working with developer AECOM on a new design, Mayor Copeland says they’ve found a design that fits the look of the beach.
“We asked the consultant to come back with a new look on the building to fit the shoreline of the beach. They’ve done a great job on the building.”
Now that the preliminary design is in place, Mayor Copeland says tendering of work can begin.
“I’d expect we’ll be hearing soon about tenders going out soon. That’s out of our hands now. We were just concerned that the building looked good.”
