Moose Lake watershed society meeting goes tonight

A group dedicated to preserving a popular lake in the Lakeland will host it’s annual general meeting tonight. Kellie Nichiporik is the chair of the Moose Lake Watershed society, she talks about the history and purpose of the group.

“It was formed in 2002 by a group of concerned citizens that live around the lake about degrading water quality. We’re a science based stewardship group. We go out and try to educate as well as conduct research on the lake, in order to improve it.”

The meeting tonight will touch on a few items, including updating on the society’s various projects, water quality testing results, and a special guest for those interesting in fishing.

“Ray Makowecki will be here. He’ll be talking about fish stocking and changes in fisheries management in Alberta.”
