Details around the 2018 Cold Lake air show have been released, and officials are excited about the line-up.
“The line-up that we’re putting together is on par with some of the major air shows across North America.” says the deputy chair for the show, Major Kael Rennie. “The premier headlining act is going to be the United States F-22 Raptor demonstration team. It is the only stop that they’re making in Canada in 2018.”
Major Rennie says the air show, which is run in two year cycles, also has a theme celebrating an anniversary of partnership this year. “We’re going with the 60th anniversary of the NORAD agreement between Canada and the United States, of which 4 Wing Cold Lake plays a key part. A CF-18 Demo Jet was chosen to have the same theme as well.” Rennie also says a special flyover is in the works to honour the theme.
The Cold Lake airshow will run July 21st and 22nd, more information can be found by clicking here.
