Cold Lake residents arrested after Frog Lake ramming incident

Two Cold Lake residents are facing charges after a ramming and brief chase in Frog Lake. Just after midnight on January 15th, mounties spotted two suspicious vehicles at a local gas station.

When they tried to pull them over, the police cruiser was rammed by one suspect’s truck, while another car sped away. The truck then lead police on a short chase that ended the vehicle losing control and hitting a stop sign.

The people inside fled the scene and were later arrested after a short foot chase. The car was found abandoned later in the morning with the suspects in that vehicle still wanted by police.

21 year old Kannan Desjarlais has been charged with flight from police, possession of stolen property, as well as criminal mischief and failing to comply with a court order. He is due in St. Paul Provincial Court February 1st. 18 year old Billie Wheaton is charged with the same offences. She will be in Cold Lake Provincial Court on January 24th.
