RCMP arrest wanted people in warrant roundup

More arrests have been made as RCMP in Bonnyville and Cold Lake team up to target known offenders. From December 14th to 17th, officers from the local detachments, as well as Lloydminster and St. Paul, checked more than 100 locations and did multiple traffic stops to find wanted people.

In total, 19 people have been arrested, and 40 outstanding warrants led to 52 charges against them. Police also seized unspecified amounts of meth and marijuana while making the arrests, and an extra 12 charges were laid.

“Crime reduction initiatives are being undertaken targeting known offender’s [sic],” says East Alberta Media Relations Officer Corporal Ronald Bumbry in a release. “Over the four-day period we were able to arrest several people who continued to commit crimes while being wanted by police.”

In addition to Bonnyville and Cold Lake, warrants were also dealt with in Vegreville, Strathcona County, High Level, Vermilion, and Edmonton. Anyone with information in illegal activity or wanted people in their area is encouraged to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.
