Warm weather shuts down cross-country trails, ice rinks

The unseasonably warm weather has led to some closures in the Lakeland.

The MD of Bonnyville has temporarily shut down the cross-country ski trails at Muriel Lake Park. More snow will be needed, along with a reset of the track, before it can be reopened.

Lac La Biche County has also stopped flooding its outdoor rinks. It says some asphalt is exposed at some rinks, and they are not suitable for skating or hockey.

The County says it plans to have as many open as possible for the holiday season.
