The number of people killed by the flu in Alberta has risen to eight so far this season. Six were in the Calgary zone, while there were one each in Edmonton and southern Alberta. There have been none so far in the north part of the province.
In the north zone, there have been 178 lab-confirmed cases of Influenza A and 18 of influenza B. More than a million doses of the flu vaccine have been given across the province.
