Men offer children candy from vehicle

St. Paul RCMP are investigating an incident where children were offered candy from a vehicle. Police say the two kids were walking home from school on Lakeshore Drive between 3 and 3:45 p.m. on November 23rd.

It’s alleged a man driving a white car rolled down his window and asked them if they wanted some candy. When they didn’t reply, he drove off.

The children made it home safely and told their parents. Police were contacted, but couldn’t find the vehicle. It’s described as a larger white four-door car with dirt on it.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, possibly 50 years old with no facial hair. There was a passenger in the vehicle, and he’s described as wearing a baseball cap and possibly looking the same age as the driver.

RCMP are commending the children for not talking to the men, and telling adults about what happened. They remind parents and caregivers talk to their children about safety and dealing with strangers.

Anyone with incident is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
