Cold Lake Hospital Receives a Vein Viewer

The Cold Lake Hospital has a new piece of equipment that will help find veins easier, amply titled, a Vein Viewer. . The new equipment, which will make technicians jobs a lot more efficient, comes with a price tag of $17 000 dollars, paid for by funds raised by The Health Auxiliary.

It allows the technician to see a vein that would be undetectable to the naked eye; this will make drawing blood and placing I-Vs much easier on the staff and the patient. The state-of-the-art machine is versatile and able to map veins of persons with different skin colour.  In addition to that, the machine can also detect blood clots and blockages.
