Cold Lake Man Arrested After Stolen Trucks, Credit Cards and Meth Found on Property

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after police found four stolen trucks, six stolen credit cards and meth on his property.

Police made the discovery after tracking one of the stolen trucks down through its GPS tracking. It wasn’t the first interaction they had with the suspect though. One of the stolen trucks was reported at a break in in the MD of Bonnyville in August. The driver of the truck attempted to steal a boat engine and the vehicle parked there, but was scared off by neighbours before they could succeed. An officer also spotted another one of the trucks later found in the search at Northern Lights Truck Stop. However, when they tried to pull the truck over, the driver sped away at over 180 kilometres an hour.

The man now faces four counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000; two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000; one count of break and enter and committing theft on a rural property; one count of resisting arrest; six counts of unlawful possession of credit cards; one count of possession of a break-in instrument; one count of possession of a weapon with a dangerous purpose; and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
