Home Invasion in Frog Lake

The Elk Point RCMP is investigating a home invasion in Frog Lake.

Police say when they responded they were told several suspects entered the residence after shooting at the front door with a firearm. One person, who was sleeping near the front entrance, suffered a gunshot wound and was assaulted during an altercation. Police say the suspects then stole a TV and jewellery and fled in a vehicle.

The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported via EMS to a hospital in Edmonton. Police believe this was not a random incident and say there is no risk to public safety at this time.

The General Investigative Section from Edmonton and St. Paul Forensic Identification Section are helping with the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Elk Point RCMP at 780-724-3964. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
