The Cold Lake RCMP are down a cruiser after it crashed into three stray cows a few weeks ago.
The officers were responding to an emergency when they hit the cows wandering onto the road around five in the morning. The cows were on opposite sides of the road and the driver tried to squeeze between them, but they wandered into the vehicle’s path. The two officers inside were uninjured, but one of the cows had to be put down on the scene and the truck was totalled. The two other cows ran off but the officers say they had been injured.
The owner of the cows has been identified and may face charges for losing them, but nothing has been sworn is as of last report.
