2018 Cold Lake Air Show Shaping Up to Be “A Big One”

Things are still in the very early stages for the 2018 Cold Lake Air Show, but Bonnyville Mayor Gene Sobolewski is excited by what he’s seen so far.

Sobolewski relayed to council some details from an October 3rd meeting at 4 Wing regarding sponsorships for the show. He noted that it will be the only airshow the Canadian Air Force will be putting on in the entire country next year and that they’re planning to put a great deal of resources into it.

“It is going to be a phenomenal show. They’re going to be looking for some serious sponsors because the types of acts that they’re going to be bringing there are fairly unique. This is going to be a big one.”

Sobolewski added that he hopes to see the town make more of a financial commitment to the show. “I’m hoping by the time they come around for the actual sponsorship that we’ll be looking to see if we can up our game a little bit on that.”
