Spay and Neuter Task Force on CLFN This Weekend

The Alberta Spay & Neuter Task Force will be on the Cold Lake First Nations this weekend to provide free veterinary services to band members.

The task force will vaccinate, spay or neuter, and treat any animal brought in for parasites, fleas and worms. The goal is to reduce the stray dog population on the reserve. Dog bites are a recurring issue in the area. The force will also go out and try to round up as many loose dogs as possible and send them to rescue agencies throughout the province.

Band members will be able to bring their pets in for registration on Friday from 2 to 6. Cat and dog carriers will be provided. Residents are asked not to catch any stray dogs themselves but to instead tell adminstration where they saw them.
