The Marina View Hotel will be Demolished

The Marina View Hotel, which is slated for demolished in April, has been a staple of the marina since the 1950s when it was built to help with accommodations as the air force base was being built.

In 2000, The City of Cold Lake commissioned the painting of historical murals to be featured on the exterior walls of the hotel. The murals were rich in history and saved by the Cold Lake Museum, who has been given permission by the City to install them elsewhere.

The City hopes that, although it is sad to see a historic building fall, it will be for the greater good as a new building will help rejuvenate the tourism driven area of Cold Lake.
