Bonnyville RCMP arrested a man and woman from Cold Lake on Monday, accused of stealing a truck and fleeing police.
Bonnyville RCMP were first alerted around 10 o’clock that night by Cold Lake RCMP about the stolen vehicle. Bonnyville police spotted one matching the description in Fort Kent. Police tried to pull the truck over but it drove off. The chase didn’t last too long though before it appeared to run out of gas. Two people got out and tried to escape on foot. However they were both arrested without incident.
The 20-year-old male was also wanted in relation to four break and enters that occurred between late August and mid September. He will be appearing via CCTV in Bonnyville Provincial Court on October 3rd. The 17-year-old female was released on a recognizance with court conditions and will be appearing in Bonnyville Provincial Court on that day as well.
As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
