A St. Paul woman is in a French hospital after a serious accident during a Motocross race.
Madi Watt was part of the Canadian Women’s Trophy team at theĀ 2017 ISDE (International Six Day Enduro) in late August. Held in France this year, the competition features courses over 200 kilometres long that go through several small villages. Exactly what happened is not clear as Watt has no memory of the accident, but another rider eventually found her. The going theory is that she skidded off the road into a ditch and hit a culvert. She was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and has been in the Intensive Care Unit ever since. While her condition has improved in the weeks since, there’s still no timeline for when she will be cleared to fly back home.
