The old St. Paul Animal Shelter is set to be demolished this Friday and finished by the following Monday.
The building was left uninhabitable after a recent storm, leaving the Animal Shelter without the ability to take animals in. However, staff and volunteers are still doing what they can to connect animals that need adopting with new owners. Fundraising efforts to build a new shelter had already been going on for years and the shelter is continuing these efforts to get a permanent home up as soon as possible.
The town of St. Paul says there will be no need to close roads while the demolition is underway but asks residents to stay behind any and all barricades that might be put up.
