AHS Clarifies Statement on Moose Lake Water Advisory

Alberta Health Services has released a statement clarifying the Water Quality Advisory issued for Moose Lake on Friday.

While the previous statement advised residents not to swim or wade in Moose Lake at all due to bacterial contamination, the agency is now clarifying that their statement only applies to the beach at the provincial park. The middle of the lake should still be safe for swimming, boating and other such recreational activities.

However, the public is still warned not to drink or accidentally take in any water from the lake. This may result in vomiting and diarrhea. At current levels, skin, ear and eye infections may result from contact with the water at the Provincial Park Beach at Moose Lake.
