AHS has issued a water quality advisory for Moose Lake, advising everyone not come in contact with the lake at all.
Due to elevated levels of fecal coliforms (a bacteria found in the intestines of warm blooded animals) in the water, the public is urged not to swim, boat or even dip a toe in the lake at all.
The public is also advised not to drink this untreated lake water at any time. Water-borne organisms, including fecal coliforms, can cause vomiting and diarrhea. At current levels, skin, ear and eye infections may result from contacting water in the lake.
AHS Environmental Public Health officers will continue to monitor the situation.
