A Bonnyville Woman Threatens to Cause a Car Accident.

***Press Release from The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment***

In the early morning hours of  April 2nd, 2015 the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a complaint from a suicidal female advising that she was going to intentionally cause a collision.  The female, 27 year old resident of Bonnyville, was located by police while driving her vehicle.  Attempts to conduct a traffic stop with the female were unsuccessful until a spike belt was deployed to stop the vehicle.  Though the female had a knife at the time of the traffic stop, she was arrested without incident.  Through investigation, police believed the female to be impaired while driving and she later provided breath samples that were over the legal limit.  The female remains in custody for psychiatric assessment facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police while being Pursued and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment were happy that this incident ended without any harm to the public or to the female.
