Semi-Truck Collides with a Pickup on Highway 28

On March 31st, The Bonnyville RCMP and emergency crews responded to a collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck on Highway 28 at Range Road 603. The pickup truck had crossed the center line and collided with the semi, the driver of the pickup was trapped in the vehicle and injured when emergency crews arrived on the scene.

When police arrived on scene, in conjunction with EMS and Bonnyville Fire Authority, EMS tended to the lone occupant of the pick up truck, a 19 year old male resident of Bonnyville.  The driver of the Semi Truck , a 34 year old male resident of Stony Plain, AB, was shaken up however did not endure any injuries.

The 19 year old was transported to Edmonton via STARS with a possible fractured shoulder, he is in stable condition.  While the collision is still under investigation, with the cause of the collision unknown, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
