Lac La Biche County warning against travel on Old Conklin Road

Lac La Biche County is recommending people stay off of the Old Conklin Road. Thursday’s storm has left debris on the road and despite the efforts of peace officers, firefighters, and transportation staff, it’s still not clear.

The stretch of road affected is from around kilometre 18 to kilometre 70. Crews are working to clear the area as soon as possible. Drivers ended up stranded on it last night, and had to call RCMP.

The storm also knocked over the Lifejacket Loaner Station at McArthur Park and it needs repairs. It’s expected to be fixed by next week, but lifejackets won’t be available until then.
