Erratic driver in stolen vehicle causes head-on collision

A 37 year old man is facing several charges after an incident in Elk Point Tuesday. RCMP say they were responding to reports of an erratic driver in a construction zone on Highway 41, when they heard about a crash on Highway 29 and Range Road 73.

Police says the same erratic driver had swerved into the centre lane and caused a head-on collision. The man then fled on foot and was eventually found by RCMP.

He was taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. Another man who was hit in the head on collision was also transported to the hospital in similar condition.

The suspect is being charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, possession of stolen property, driving while suspended, and resisting arrest. His name has not yet been released.
