Lac La Biche County Providing Money For Oilers-Flames Game, Baseball Diamonds

The County of Lac La Biche says they plan to help out the Lac La Biche Regional Health Foundation with their Oilers-Flames alumni hockey game.

Council has passed a motion to provide the Foundation with 40,000 dollars and in-kind support for the foundation’s planned upcoming hockey fundraiser. The Oilers and Flames alumni -including the likes of Ryan Smyth and Lanny McDonald- will be at the Bold Center on September 23rd, offering a hockey clinic for kids during the day and playing a game in the evening. The funds raised will go towards improvements at the William J. Cadzow Hospital.

That’s not the only sports-related funding passed through today. Council has also decided to provide the Lac La Biche Minor Baseball Association with 7,500 dolalrs in matching funds, to help reconstruct the baseball diamonds at Aurora Middle School.
