Credit Card Forging Equipment Found in Vehicle in Cold Lake

A 36-year-old Hardisty woman is facing a number of charges and her passenger may soon as well after being pulled over in Cold Lake with a suspended license.

Local RCMP say that was only one offence of many that they uncovered during the stop on June 18th. Police uncovered that the woman was in fraudulent possession of several pre-paid credit cards. They also discovered a kit to make fake credit cards in the vehicle. On top of that methamphetamine related paraphernalia and stolen property were discovered as well.

The driver faces charges of driving while disqualified, possession of stolen property, and unauthorized use of credit card data. She was released on a $500 no-deposit recognizance to attend court in Cold Lake. Her vehicle has been impounded for a month as well.

The 32-year-old male passenger from Cold Lake provided a false name during the stop. Police are working on getting a warrant for his arrest as well.
