The Bonnyville Seniors Drop-In Centre ended Seniors’ Week in style on Saturday with their annual Fish Fry.
The event had a fair number of notable guests show up, including Bonnyville Mayor Gene Sobolewski along with several Councillors, MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake Scott Cyr and live music provided by White Roy.
Miss East-Central Alberta and Bonnyville resident Riwa Kamaleddine volunteered her time for the fry as well. “It was an honour,” she said in a social media post afterwards.”The food, the music and the company was fantastic! The Fish Fry was the icing on the cake to an amazing seniors week, our seniors hold such wisdom and deserve to be recognized! It is wonderful to see our community work together to celebrate them!”
Seniors’ Week has been held every first full week of June in Alberta since 1986.
