New Donation Request Policy For The Town of Bonnyville

The Town of Bonnyville is developing a new donation request policy. Bonnyville receives a lot of requests for various donations; so much so, town councillors have decided to develop a new way of handling the requests.

Mayor of Bonnyville Gene Sobolewski says the town will “provide a certain amount without having to come to council, if groups want more we’ll encourage them to do some of the clean up work and things like that, that we’ve got because we also have money set aside for things like that”. Basically, the town would put a cap on a request amount, and any amount over that the organization would still have an opportunity to receive the funds from the town but they would have to give back.

Mayor Sobolewski says the town still wants to help out various groups, non-profits, and charities and encourages these groups to participate in fund raising incentives the town has in place. More information can be found on The Town of Bonnyville’s Site HERE.
