Legion Holding Essay Contest For St. Paul Students

Students in St. Paul Education Regional Division No.1 have a hundred fifty bucks up for grabs thanks to an essay contest the Legion chapter is putting on.

The theme of the essay is “The Shaping of Canada’s Confederation and the Battle of Ridgeway in 1866.” There are two categories, the first from grades 7 to 9 with a paper between 1000 to 1500 words and the other grades 10 to 12 with 1500 to 2000 words. Both categories have a 150 dollar prize for the winner. Any interested students will want to hit the books soon as the deadline is March 31st.

The winning essays will be announced July 1st. Entries can be submitted either to the legion or Connie Landsiedel at St. Paul Regional High School.
