St Paul RCMP charge two men with weapons / Drug Trafficking offences

Two men are facing weapons and drug charges after St. Paul RCMP searched their vehicle.

RCMP received a report of  two suspicious looking men in the Saddle Creek area on May 9th, possibly with guns. Police were able to arrest the two without incident and while searching their vehicle, found a sawed off shotgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and a variety of ammunition as well as drugs.

44 year old, Rod Castor of Fort McMurray and 29 year old Tyrone Shirt of Saddle Lake are each facing 10 charges related to the possession of prohibited weapons and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. They have both been released from custody.

Shirt’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 26th. Castor is schedule to appear in St. Paul Provincial court on June 2nd.
