Bonnyville Woman Tries and Fails to Avoid Driving While Suspended Charge

On January 26th, 2016 at approximately 2:30 PM, a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was on patrol in the town of Bonnyville and observed a female known to him, and known to have a suspended drivers licence, driving south on 42nd street.  Before the Constable was able to get turned around the female, a 55 year old resident of Bonnyville, was able to make it home and did not come to the door of the residence when the Constable attended.  The Constable noted the vehicle near the residence and police checks on the vehicle showed that the licence plate was not associated to the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed and seized for 30 days in relation to the driving while disqualified offence and a warrant was sought for the female driver.  On January 30th, 2016 the Bonnyville RCMP located the female and arrested her for Driving while Disqualified.  The female was later released to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on March 1st, 2016 for charges of Driving while Disqualified along with two charges under the Traffic Safety Act.
