BCHS Securing Grant Funding for Refurbishing the Tennis Courts

Bonnyville Centralized High School (BCHS) is going after a grant to help fund refurbishing of the . The high school, in conjunction of the growing Pickleball players in the area, are looking to secure a grant that will also look at upgrading the basketball courts.

Mayor of Bonnyville, Gene Sobolewski says Town Council, “received a letter from BCHS and what they wanna do is refurbish the tennis courts and some of their basketball.” The plan is to give the courts an upgrade, “basically, create some better facilities,” says Mayor Sobolewski.

BCHS requested a letter of support from Town Council, on May 12th, says the Mayor, who continues to explain that Council is behind the venture, “we jumped on that one and we’re providing unanimous support for that type of endeavour.”

With the letter of support coming from The Town of Bonnyville and the backing of the Pickleball player population, now it is up to the school to follow through with getting the grant to fund the project.
