4 Wing is planning to get rid of some expired munitions tomorrow between 8 and 4. That means Cold Lake residents can expect to hear some explosions and see some smoke coming from the base.
As usual, the disposal will be done at the Explosives Ordnance Disposal range located south of the main runways. Access to portions of the Base will be restricted during that time for safety reasons. Pleas follow the directions of base staff at all times.
Blowing up expired munitions is standard practice for the Canadian Armed Forces and a routine occurrence.
