Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Lakeland and Smoky Lake.
Thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop this afternoon and last into the evening hours. The storms may become strong enough to damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Large hail and heavy rain may develop as well.
